Compass Fuels is a well-established, family-run fuel and lubricant supplier based in Preston, delivering across Lancashire, Cumbria and the wider North West.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for a reliable and practical 7.5 Tonne Delivery Driver / Yard Operative to join our team.
This is a varied role involving deliveries using our company 7.5 tonne vehicle along with general yard duties, depot support and cleaning tasks.
The role would suit someone who is hands-on, well organised and happy to get stuck in wherever needed.
Duties to include but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out deliveries to commercial, agricultural and domestic customers
- Driving a 7.5 tonne vehicle safely and professionally
- Delivering packaged lubricants, AdBlue, drums and related products
- Completing smaller deliveries and assisting with access-restricted locations
- Loading and unloading goods safely and accurately
- Keeping the yard clean, tidy and well organised
- Carrying out general cleaning duties around the depot, yard, vehicles and equipment
- Assisting with stock movement, goods-in and general depot tasks
- Completing delivery paperwork correctly
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects
- Providing a friendly and professional service to customers
- Working safely and following company procedures at all times
What We’re Looking For
- Full UK driving licence (Class 2 / Cat C)
- Driver CPC qualification
- Digital tachograph card
- Previous 7.5 tonne, delivery, warehouse, yard or depot experience preferred
- Comfortable with manual handling and practical outdoor work
- Happy to carry out cleaning and general yard duties as part of the role
- Reliable, punctual and well organised
- Friendly, professional and customer-focused
- Good knowledge of the local area would be an advantage however not essential
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A positive, can-do attitude
