We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a care home setting and a strong understanding of food preparation and safety standards. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality meals to our customers while maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to the menu specifications.
- Assist in meal preparation, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and properly stored.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and quality control.
- Help with inventory management, including ordering supplies as needed.
- Clean and organise kitchen equipment and workstations regularly.
- Adapt recipes and cooking methods to accommodate dietary restrictions or preferences.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Cook in a care home or similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary skills.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A team player with good communication skills, willing to help others as needed.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
