We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for an onsite Finance Analyst, Viasat Global Services to join our dynamic team in London
As the strategic right hand to the VP of Finance, you will orchestrate a comprehensive financial management capability, seamlessly integrating direct oversight with shared service expertise. You’ll serve as the mission-critical interface between Group Finance, the PMO, and Project Managers, navigating everything from complex Capex business cases to rigorous budget forecasting. Beyond the balance sheet, you are a translator of data; you will provide the VGS Leadership Team with visual, commercially-shrewd insights that turn raw figures into actionable strategy. By working in lockstep with the VP to build budgets aligned with Group goals, you ensure the business unit’s financial roadmap is both ambitious and precisely executed.
The day-to-day:
Business Performance Management. Production and improvement of monthly capex reporting, metrics and analysis

Collaborate with business teams to provide highly visual insights into actions that drive performance

Ensure financial and operational results of VGS are provided to the management team on an standardised, accurate and timely basis together with a concise, action orientated, business focused commentary.

To systematically and objectively review the performance of the business both actual and forecast, working with the VP to ensure that all material issues, risks and opportunities are promptly identified and addressed.
Business Partnering. Act as the Capex business partner for a sub-set of the VGS Functions providing financial and commercial support.

Project Accountant on major programs (>$5m) to efficiently and optimally manage expenditure. This includes, working closely with procurement during the business case and RFP process to deliver the most cost-effective solution possible, tracking expenditure and results through the life of the program, ensuring an accurate forecast and completing program close off procedures with central finance.

Business case preparation: Be proactively involved in preparation of investment cases, taking a lead or support role as required but always ensuring that a concise high quality commerical case is prepared in support of all major investment decisions Track actual project spend and results are monitored against the originally planned outcome and that necessary action is taken accordingly.

Ownership of the VGS capex forecasting process: working with and training Project Managers so that cost to complete forecasts are prepared on a monthly basis for all capex projects >$250k
Budgeting and Long Range Business Planning (Op Plan and Strat Plan). Support the Capex planning process for VGS and take a lead role in ensuring that a high quality Op Plan and Strat Plan is in place that reflects all relevant material issues and business plans, is consistent with and delivers the results required by the Group, is timely basis and is owned by VGS Leadership.
Interface to Group Finance and Financial Systems. Working with Group finance, ensure that the Group accounting, transaction processing and project management capabilities (together with other processes) are appropriate for the needs of VGS.

Drive improvements in core financial capability where required (e.g. capex and project reporting)

Sponsor improvements in BI (e.g. dash-boards, data-structure, and data integrity) and drive adoption / roll-out to users
