Kitchen Assistant
Restaurant 1840 is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our small independent team.
This role is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys food, cooking and hospitality and wants to gain hands-on experience in a professional kitchen.
No previous kitchen experience is required, however a passion for food and a willingness to learn are essential.
Working Hours
- Primarily Friday & Saturday (6pm-10:30pm when very busy this can run over)
- Typically 2 shifts per week
- Additional hours may be available during busy periods and events
The Role
Working directly alongside the Head Chef, duties will include:
- Assisting with food preparation
- Supporting service during busy periods
- Washing up and maintaining kitchen cleanliness
- Basic cooking tasks as skills develop
- Following food safety and hygiene procedures
- Helping maintain Restaurant 1840's 5-star hygiene standards
