Summary
We are seeking a Family Support Worker to join our team at Hetty`s (predominately working with clients in the Newark & Sherwood area at 22.5 hours per week.). This would however, involved mostly working in our Mansfield Woodhouse office . In this role, you will play a vital part in providing emotional and practical support to families dealing with the effects of substance misuse. Your contributions will be essential in helping families regain stability and improve their overall well-being.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support to families affected by substance misuse.
- Assist families in developing coping strategies and accessing necessary resources.
- Conduct assessments to identify the specific needs of each family.
- Facilitate support groups and workshops for parents and caregivers.
- Collaborate with other professionals and agencies to ensure comprehensive support.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress for reporting purposes.
Requirements
- Experience working with children and families in a supportive role is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with families.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by families dealing with substance misuse.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple cases efficiently.
