We are a growing international logistics provider seeking an organised, detail-oriented Freight Forwarding Clerk to join our busy operations team.
In this role, you will hold complete ownership of the client journey. You will maintain direct contact with customers, handling all aspects of the shipping process from the initial quote to final delivery. You will coordinate with global agents, handle essential transport documentation, and clear customs tracking to ensure goods move efficiently across borders.

Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Provide tracking updates to clients, manage arrival/departure notifications, and resolve transit issues or delays proactively.
- Quotation Process: Calculate freight rates and issue accurate client quotes
- Shipment Coordination: Manage the end-to-end booking, planning, and movement of global cargo across all modes of transport.
- Documentation: Prepare and check crucial shipping paperwork including Air Waybills (AWB), Bills of Lading (B/L), commercial invoices, and packing lists.
- Customs Compliance: Submit accurate import/export declarations using customs platforms (e.g., CDS) in full compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Carrier Liaison: Negotiate rates and coordinate schedules with hauliers, airlines, shipping lines, and third-party warehouses.
- Financial Admin: Manage job costing, issue timely customer invoices, and verify supplier invoices to ensure account accuracy
Skills & Requirements
- Experience: Proven experience working within a freight forwarding or logistics environment. Preferably have multimodal experience.
- Customs Knowledge: Good understanding of Incoterms, tariff codes, and customs clearance procedures.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with freight management software (e.g. Multifreight CargoWise) and standard MS Office systems.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to deal with international agents and corporate clients.
- Organisation: Ability to multi-task, prioritize your own workload, and problem-solve under tight transit deadlines.
- Background Check: Able to provide a clean checkable work history.
