Job Overview
Morton & Jones are currently looking for an experienced labourer to join our expanding team as soon as possible in the Wrexham area.
To start as soon as possible. Must be able to report daily to our Wrexham yard.
Previous experience working on construction projects is required.
The ideal candidate will have experience in various installation techniques and a strong understanding of construction practices and health and safety on site.
Key responsibilities:
- Assisting brick laying team with all aspects of brickwork.
- Preparing construction sites, ensuring a safe and organised workspace.
- Carry materials to and from site as needed.
- Follow detailed instructions from the site supervisor/manager and bricklayers.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure equipment and tools are in good working order.
- Participate in training sessions and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time while maintaining high-quality standards.
You will be required to have a CSCS Green Card or similar CSCS card according to your qualifications and experience. Support towards this may be given and training may be arranged by the company for any other specific skilled training which is required to perform your role on site.
All staff in this role are required to be DBS checked.
All staff will be regularly tested for drugs/alcohol.
Skills
- Proficiency in using power tools such as drills, saws, angle grinders and STIHL saws.
- Basic bricklaying and masonry would be advantageous.
- Strong skills with hand tools including hammers, levels, and measuring tapes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to be a team player.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labour tasks.
