Salary: £12.71 + Per hour
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM including 1 hour break – Some Rota’d weekend work required
About Us
Andersons Transport operates a large, commercial vehicle fleet. We manage all our maintenance internally to guarantee the highest safety standards. We are seeking a reliable Trainee In-House HGV Tyre Fitter to join our workshop team and learn this specialized transport skill.
The Role
You will work exclusively on our own heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) and trailers in a secure, covered workshop. Under the guidance of senior technicians, you will master the specific skills required to manage heavy commercial tyres safely.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Learning to safely remove, repair, and fit large HGV and trailer tyres.
- Regrooving and turning tyres on the rim to maximize fleet efficiency.
- Carrying out routine fleet tyre inspections, pressure checks, and tread measurements.
- Re-torquing commercial vehicle wheel nuts to strict safety specifications.
- Monitoring workshop tyre stock and updating fleet maintenance records.
What We Are Looking For
- A physically fit individual comfortable with heavy lifting and manual work.
- A serious commitment to workshop safety and attention to detail.
- Enthusiastic learner ready to follow technical instructions closely.
- Good communication skills to work effectively alongside our HGV mechanics.
- Full UK driving license is highly desirable for moving fleet vehicles.
- No previous commercial tyre experience required; full training is provided.
