Job Overview
We are looking for a friendly and organised Receptionist / Patient Services Team Member to join our busy GP Practice. You will be the first point of contact for patients and play a key role in supporting the administrative and operational functions of the practice, helping to ensure a high standard of patient care.
Hours:
16 hours per week:
Monday 08:00-13:00, Thursday 08:00-13:00, Friday 12:30-18:30
Responsibilities
- Assist patients in person, by telephone, and via online systems
- Book, amend, and cancel appointments according to clinician instructions and practice protocols
- Handle patient enquiries with professionalism, sensitivity, and discretion
- Provide administrative support to clinicians and the wider practice team
- Ensure confidentiality at all times
- Support day-to-day practice operations in line with practice policies
Qualifications / Skills (Essential & Desirable)
Essential:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work calmly in a busy environment
- Basic IT skills and willingness to learn new systems
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a GP practice, healthcare, or customer-facing role
- Knowledge of clinical systems such as EMIS or SystmOne
- Experience of administrative work
