Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records using various accounting software including ClearBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, and other relevant platforms
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes efficiently
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports in accordance with organisational policies and regulatory requirements
- Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff or interns as needed
- Collaborate with other departments to facilitate smooth financial operations
- Analyse financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, or areas for improvement
Skills
- Proven experience in financial management and accounting within a professional setting
- Proficiency in accounting software such as ClearBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of financial services industry practices and standards
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Effective mentoring abilities to support team development
- Knowledge of financial accounting principles and procedures
