Duties
- Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of senior chefs, ensuring timely delivery of dishes
- Prepare ingredients and components of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety and hygiene regulations
- Support meal preparation during busy service periods, ensuring efficiency and quality control
- Follow instructions for plating and presentation to ensure visually appealing dishes
- Ensure proper storage of ingredients and leftovers to prevent contamination and waste
- Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating effectively with kitchen staff and serving personnel
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a restaurant or similar setting
- Strong understanding of kitchen safety protocols and food safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of culinary techniques, meal preparation, and ingredient handling
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Prior restaurant experience or culinary training is highly desirable
- Ability to assist with serving when needed, demonstrating flexibility and customer focus
