We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Surveyor to join our growing Infrastructure team in Birmingham.
This role offers the opportunity to work across a range of major infrastructure projects, providing professional advice on compulsory purchase and compensation, utilities and land rights, valuation, acquisition and disposal of land and rights. Working closely with Partners and senior colleagues, you will deliver high-quality advice to clients while helping to support and develop junior members of the team.
As a Senior Surveyor, you will play an important role in managing client relationships, delivering valuation and property advice, and ensuring projects are delivered to the highest professional standards. The role also provides an excellent opportunity to further develop leadership and management skills, with strong prospects for career progression within a collaborative and ambitious team.

Main Tasks

Provide professional advice in relation to the valuation, acquisition and disposal of land and rights across a range of property types in connection with major infrastructure projects.

Prepare and deliver valuation reports in accordance with client instructions and RICS Valuation Standards.

Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing excellent service and professional advice.

Support Partners within the team and manage your own workload effectively.

Provide guidance and supervision to Graduate Surveyors and other junior members of the team.

Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of an effective profit centre business plan aligned with the Carter Jonas vision.

Support the development and implementation of efficient internal systems and processes, promoting best practice and effective use of resources.

Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with relevant legislation, professional standards and company policies.

Undertake compulsory purchase and compensation, utilities and land rights, valuation and negotiation work on behalf of clients.

Actively participate in training, professional development and CPD activities to broaden knowledge and expertise.
What will it take to be successful?
We're looking for an MRICS qualified Surveyor with at least two years' post-qualification experience and Registered Valuer status.
You will have experience in compulsory purchase and compensation, utilities and land rights, valuation and negotiation, together with the ability to provide clear professional advice and manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
The successful candidate will be ambitious, client-focused and commercially aware, with the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment and deliver work to agreed timescales.
