Unlock your potential in Haematology with a pivotal role at Charing Cross Hospital. We are seeking an ambitious and forward-thinking Senior Biomedical Scientist to join our dynamic team, an excellent opportunity for experienced Band 6 scientists ready to step up, or Band 7 professionals looking to broaden their experience in a progressive environment.
We are looking for someone who brings more than technical expertise, someone motivated to make a meaningful impact on patient care and thrive in an increasingly digital laboratory landscape. You will hold HCPC registration and have substantial post-registration experience in Haematology and morphology. Strong technical capability, combined with excellent communication, interpersonal, and IT skills, will enable you to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
You will contribute to the delivery and continuous improvement of high-quality laboratory services, ensuring the best possible support for clinical teams and patient care. You will be actively involved in maintaining and developing quality management systems, supporting compliance with UKAS accreditation standards, and driving service excellence.
The role is primarily based at Charing Cross Hospital; however, where there is an operational need and as a further development opportunity, you may be required to work at and support service delivery, training, and quality aspects within one of the other Haematology Laboratories across NWLP.
Manage daily operations of a laboratory section under the Laboratory Manager’s guidance, ensuring efficient service delivery.
Collaborate with team members to provide a professional clinical laboratory service and support departmental objectives.
Develop professional expertise and specialist skills, while training and supervising staff to uphold high standards.
Coordinate specialist clinical technical and scientific services, including research and audits, while fostering a culture of quality compliance with accrediting and regulatory standards.
Benefits include career development, flexible working, staff wellbeing programmes, staff awards and recognition scheme. We also have available benefits including Cycle to Work, car lease schemes, season ticket loan or membership options for onsite leisure facilities.
