Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bar Manager/Duty Manager to oversee daily operations within our hospitality establishment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing bar services, supervising staff, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of bar operations, including beverage service, food preparation, and customer engagement
- Supervise and support bar staff, ensuring efficient team management and high standards of service
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all areas of the establishment
- Manage stock levels, order supplies, and maintain inventory control
- Assist in food preparation and cooking as needed to support the kitchen team
- Lead by example in delivering exceptional hospitality experiences to guests
- Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service during busy periods
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Support training programmes for new team members and ongoing staff development
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience within a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards
- Experience in food production, serving, or culinary roles is highly desirable
- Familiarity with barista techniques and beverage crafting is advantageous
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
- Previous experience in restaurant or hotel management preferred
- Knowledge of food safety legislation and best practices in hospitality settings
