The business has grown to be one of the most dependable on-line seed retailers in the industry and has a small team of 18 people based in a business unit in Wilton just outside Salisbury
About the job
We are looking for an organised and detail-focused Demand Planner & Stock Controller to combine demand planning and inventory control responsibilities to ensure accurate demand forecasts, optimal stock levels, and product availability. This role balances forecast accuracy, maintaining accurate stock levels, with processing purchase orders, receiving goods and general inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain short-, medium- term demand forecasts using historical sales, seasonality and market trends
- Inventory planning: set target inventory levels, safety stock, and replenishment plans adding products to purchase orders as required
- Create replenishment plans and coordinate with Production to ensure finished goods stock is well maintained.
- Receive and verify goods against purchase orders, reporting any discrepancies.
- Confirm received stock accurately in the stock management system.
- Monitor inventory KPIs and lead corrective actions for overstocks, slow-movers, obsolete items, and stockouts.
- Process production, stock adjustments, transfers, write-offs and uncompleted sales orders in the stock management system to maintain accurate records
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies.
- Carry out annual stocktakes.
- Maintain master data relating to SKU’s including accurate product, supplier, pricing, and batch information.
What are we looking for?
- 2+ years’ experience in demand planning, inventory control, materials planning, or related supply chain role
- Previous experience using a stock management system.
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Good organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced excel skills
