The Leaving Care Service is on the lookout for an Achievement Officer to support care leavers aged 18–24 who arrived in the UK as Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC). This role is all about helping young people access education, training, and employment opportunities tailored to their individual needs. You will play a crucial part in raising aspirations and improving future career prospects for these young individuals.
As an Achievement Officer, your key responsibilities will include:

Building positive relationships with young people from diverse backgrounds.

Providing encouragement, guidance, and practical support to help them achieve their goals.

Working closely with colleges, employers, training providers, and partner agencies to maximise opportunities.

Managing your own caseload of young people, offering advocacy and negotiation support.

Coordinating and delivering independence preparation training to groups of vulnerable young people.
To succeed in this role, you will need:

Experience supporting young people into education, employment, and training.

Strong communication, advocacy, and multi-agency working skills.

Knowledge of leaving care services and the specific needs of UASC care leavers.

A minimum of GCSE level C or above in Maths and English.

A relevant qualification in a related field.
