Occupational Therapist – Equipment & Adaptations (0–18 Disability Service)

Sanctuary Personnel are proud to be recruiting for an Occupational Therapist to join a dedicated 0–18 Disability Service, supporting children and young people to achieve greater independence and improved quality of life.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a strengths-based, person-centred service, delivering impactful interventions through equipment provision, adaptations, and collaborative multi-agency working.
The Role
As an Occupational Therapist, you will carry out specialist assessments and use clinical reasoning to identify tailored solutions that promote independence, safety, and wellbeing for children and young people with disabilities.
You will play a key role in recommending and implementing equipment, minor and major adaptations, including the use of Disabled Facilities Grants, while working closely with families and partner agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete high-quality OT assessments for children and young people with disabilities
- Recommend and implement equipment and home adaptations
- Use clinical reasoning to deliver effective, personalised interventions
- Work collaboratively with families, education, health, and social care professionals
- Manage a varied caseload, including complex cases, with autonomy
- Contribute to safeguarding and promote the welfare of children and young people
- Support and supervise OT students and non-qualified staff where required
Requirements
- Qualified Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration
- Experience working with children and young people with disabilities
- Strong understanding of equipment provision, manual handling, and adaptations
- Ability to manage complex cases independently
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Enhanced DBS
Desirable Experience
- Post-qualified experience within paediatric or disability services
- Experience supervising students or junior staff
- Knowledge of housing adaptations and Disabled Facilities Grants
