Are you passionate about supporting people to live fulfilling and independent lives? We are looking for caring, reliable and motivated Support Workers to join our team in Spalding.
As a Support Worker, you will be helping the people we support to maintain and develop their independence, make their own choices and live life in the way they want to. Every day is different, and the support you provide is tailored to the individual needs, preferences and goals of each person.
The role involves providing practical support with everyday life, which can include preparing meals, assisting with laundry, keeping the home clean and comfortable, sorting post, arranging appointments and supporting with other day-to-day household tasks. You will also be supporting people with their personal care and, where required, manual handling.
Our services are located throughout Spalding. We currently have six supported living services, as well as four individuals who receive support in their own homes within the community. You do not need to be a driver if you live in Spalding, although you must be able to travel between locations by foot or bicycle, as there are not bus routes to all of our services.
A big part of the role is helping people to get out into the community and enjoy the activities they choose. This could include attending day centres, going shopping, visiting family and friends, taking walks, visiting local garden centres, enjoying tea and cake, going out for meals or spending a day at a local farm. You may also spend time supporting someone at home, enjoying activities such as movie nights, board games, arts and crafts or simply spending quality time together.
This is a part-time position, with regular opportunities to pick up additional shifts if you would like to work extra hours. Our services provide 24-hour support, meaning sleep-in shifts are part of the role. Day shifts can fall anywhere between 7:00am and 10:00pm, depending on the service and the needs of the people we support. Regular weekend working is also required.
If you are compassionate, dependable and enthusiastic about helping others achieve greater independence, we would love to hear from you.
