About the Role
We're looking for an experienced and proactive HR Advisor to join our HR team at our Newtown Headquarters. This is a varied role providing professional HR advice and guidance across Quartix, supporting managers and employees across the full employee lifecycle.
You'll act as a trusted HR partner to managers, providing advice on employee relations, performance, absence, recruitment and people management. You'll work closely with the HR Manager and Finance Director to deliver a professional, proactive and compliant HR service, while also supporting HR projects, continuous improvement and the development of our HR Administrator.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional HR advice and guidance to managers and employees, ensuring the consistent application of HR policies and UK employment legislation.
- Support managers through employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management and flexible working processes.
- Coach and advise managers on effective people management, performance, engagement and development.
- Build strong working relationships with managers across the business, acting as a trusted and approachable HR point of contact.
- Prepare HR documentation and provide HR support at formal meetings, escalating complex or high-risk matters to the HR Manager where appropriate.
- Oversee HR processes, documentation and HRIS records to ensure they are accurate, efficient and compliant with GDPR and company policies.
- Support payroll processes by providing accurate information relating to starters, leavers and contractual changes.
- Support recruitment, onboarding and probation processes, working closely with managers and the HR Administrator to deliver an excellent employee experience.
- Monitor HR metrics and produce reports and insights to support effective business decision making.
- Contribute to HR projects, including the development and implementation of new policies, systems and ways of working.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, systems and the employee experience, helping to drive continuous improvement across the HR function.
- Support and coach the HR Administrator through knowledge sharing and day-to-day guidance.
- Keep HR policies and processes up to date in line with legislative changes and HR best practice.

What we're looking for
- Previous experience in an HR Advisor or equivalent HR role.
- Experience managing or supporting employee relations cases, with the confidence to advise managers through sensitive situations.
- Good knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
- Experience advising and coaching managers on HR policies, procedures and people management.
- Strong interpersonal, coaching and influencing skills, with the ability to build positive relationships at all levels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- High attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when handling sensitive HR information.
- Confident using HR systems and interpreting HR data, with strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Word.
- CIPD Level 5 qualified or working towards the qualification, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience supporting organisational change or HR projects would be advantageous.

Pay: £34,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
