We are seeking a highly skilled HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) and Plant Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles, including skid-steers, forklifts, and other plant equipment. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably, supporting our logistics operations. Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of HGVs and plant machinery to identify mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues using schematics and diagnostic tools.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on HGV and equipment, including welding, fabrication and assembly tasks.
- Maintain detailed records of all repairs, maintenance activities, parts used, and inspections performed for compliance and future reference.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely while adhering to health and safety regulations during all maintenance activities.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years experience working as an HGV mechanic / plant mechanic
- Knowledge of mechanical systems including hydraulics, engines, transmissions, brakes, steering components, and electrical systems on forklifts or similar machinery.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining high standards of safety compliance.
Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
