With an ever-growing client base, we are looking to recruit an Accounts Trainee in our Peebles office.
Accounts Trainee
A Trainee is responsible for the preparation of accounting and taxation information. This information will be of a high standard of quality, with reliability, efficiency and completeness expected.
Your main responsibilities will include:
1. Producing VAT returns, bookkeeping, client accounts and tax information to a high standard of accuracy.
2. Ensuring client requirements are met on a timely basis.
3. If applicable, commitment to a training programme, such as AAT, ATT, ICAS, ACCA, CTA etc.
Your key tasks will be:
- Preparation of VAT returns, bookkeeping, annual accounts and tax information for a range of clients.
- Building and maintaining knowledge of clients to be able to perform role well.
- To maintain and enhance knowledge with appropriate CPD learning.
- To build and develop core skills, including client communications, use of Microsoft and accounting software packages
- Provide support to senior staff and Partners in effective provision of client services.
If undertaking professional qualifications:
- Building knowledge in all areas of the business, as practically required for studies
- To show commitment to studies through attendance on courses (in person or remote), personal study and time management
Training opportunities:
- Once you have between 6-12 months experience within the business we would explore a potential training contract and options to suit you and our business needs this would include (but not limited to); apprenticeship opportunities for an AAT qualification, RGU apprenticeship programme, direct CA training with ICAS

Pay: £20,000.00-£24,000.00 per year
