As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to join our Machine Shop team.
The Role
Reporting to the Machine Shop Manager, you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC machinery to manufacture high-quality precision components. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced machinist who enjoys working on low-volume, high-quality production within a supportive engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up CNC machine tools and verify CNC programs.
- Manufacture precision components in low-volume production batches.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
- Carry out in-process quality inspections and make machining adjustments where required.
- Optimise production methods and machining efficiency.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain high housekeeping standards.
- Work closely with colleagues across departments to support production requirements.
- Follow all company Health & Safety, Quality, and operating procedures.
- Demonstrate and uphold CWM Automation's company values.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a CNC machining environment.
- Experience setting and operating CNC machines.
- Turning and milling experience (both preferred).
- Good knowledge of Fanuc-controlled CNC machinery.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
- Experience machining a variety of materials, particularly stainless steel.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a small team.
- A good understanding of manufacturing Health & Safety practices.
Desirable Skills
- CNC machining qualification or relevant engineering diploma.
- Experience using Fusion 360 or SolidWorks CAM software.
