Role Overview
As a Engine Rebuild Technician at Saxtons, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring our luxury vehicles meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance. You'll conduct mechanical assessments, diagnose faults, and carry out repairs in line with Manufacturer Standards and our internal protocols. Key Responsibilities
- Strip, inspect, measure and rebuild engines to manufacturer and Company standards
- Diagnose engine faults and determine the root cause of mechanical failures
- Carry out complete engine rebuilds, including the replacement of internal engine components
- Inspect engine components for wear and damage, ensuring all parts meet required specifications
- Reassemble engines with precision
- Conduct engine testing and quality checks following rebuilds to ensure best performance and reliability
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, parts used and measurements taken for warranty and quality control purposes.
- Utilise diagnostic equipment and technical information to support fault diagnosis and repair decisions
- Ensure workshop equipment and specialist engine rebuilding tools are maintained and used correctly
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment in accordance with Health & Safety requirements
- Deliver all work to the highest standard, minimising repeat repairs and ensuring customer satisfaction
What We're Looking For:
- Ideally hold an NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
- Proven experience in engine rebuilding, engine overhauls or advanced mechanical repair
- Strong understanding of engine systems, internal engine components and manufacturer repair procedures
- Ability to accurately diagnose engine faults and determine appropriate repair methods
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a busy workshop environment
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively
- Knowledge of manufacturer specifications
- A full UK driving licence is required
