Job Summary
This role is ideal for an experienced Early Years practitioner or teacher with strong curriculum knowledge, a warm and positive approach, and a genuine enthusiasm for supporting young children’s learning and development.
We welcome applications from newly qualified teachers, those returning to the workforce, and candidates seeking either full-time or part-time hours. We may consider two part-time appointments, such as 8.00am–1.00pm or 12.00pm–6.00pm, or one full-time appointment. Some flexibility may be available to suit both the successful candidate and the nursery.
Key responsibilities
· Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences for the Pre-School group.
· Support children’s development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
· Create a safe, caring and stimulating environment where children feel valued and confident.
· Work closely with colleagues, parents and carers to support each child’s progress.
· Observe, assess and record children’s learning and development effectively.
· Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusive practice at all times.
Essential requirements
· Experience working in Early Years, ideally with Pre-School age children.
· Relevant Early Years qualification; a Diploma of Higher Education or equivalent is preferred.
· Strong knowledge of the Early Years curriculum and child development.
· Enhanced DBS disclosure, or willingness to undertake one.
· Paediatric First Aid qualification, or willingness to complete training.
· Safeguarding training and a clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities in Early Years.
· A caring, enthusiastic and professional approach.
Desirable experience
· At least 3 years’ childcare experience.
· At least 1 year’s teaching experience.
· Additional training or specialist interests that would enrich the nursery curriculum.
