Office Admin Manager / EA to Director and General manager / Operations Support to wider team
We are a long-established, family-run business based in North Manchester, with over 30 years of experience supporting the TV, Film, Leisure, Engineering, Construction and Transport industries.
We’re a small but busy operation with a practical, hardworking team and a strong “all hands on deck” attitude. No two days are the same, and everyone contributes to keeping the business running smoothly.
We are looking for a reliable, proactive and hands-on individual to join us in a varied support role combining office administration, operational support and general day-to-day business assistance.
This role would suit someone who enjoys being busy, takes pride in helping wherever needed, and is comfortable working in both office and workshop environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Day to day bookkeeping - processing orders, quotations and invoices, Sales & Purchase ledger updating using Sage
- Sourcing, pricing & buying all materials – track order from request to delivery and process payment
- Weekly payroll – collect all time sheets and process payments
- Processing ad hoc, weekly & monthly payments
- Deliveries signing for all & distributing ASAP on arrival
- H/R – Create & look after job adverts, set up interview, contact candidates
- H/R - Inductions, onboarding, clock machine set up, time sheets show & collect & Process
- Monitoring directors & shared inboxes & phone lines - handling customer and supplier communication
- General administration including data entry, spreadsheets, filing and document management
- Supporting management with day-to-day operational tasks
- Helping maintain organised, tidy and clean office/workshop areas
- Supporting workshop and production teams with basic operational tasks when required
- Servicing / Maintenance - Crane, Forklifts, MEWPS, Fire Alarms, Security alarms, Electrical inspections – look after all bookings & pricing & servicing calendar updating
- Carrying out ad hoc duties as needed — this is a varied role where flexibility is important
What We’re Looking For
- A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to get stuck in
- Someone proactive who can use their initiative and stay productive without constant supervision
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office
- Previous experience using Sage 50 is essential
- Comfortable working as part of a small team in a fast-paced environment, confidence to question and challenge other staff as needed to fulfil your role.
- Willingness to help with practical tasks as well as office-based duties
- Reliable, punctual and professional
- Previous experience within a small business environment would be advantageous
