The Role
As an Electroplating & Masking Technician, you will be responsible for applying diamond coatings to precision tooling using specialist electroplating processes, as well as carrying out masking work to protect specific areas of components during plating.
This is a varied, hands-on manufacturing role. You'll be trained to work across both electroplating and masking processes and may be moved between machines and tasks according to production needs. We're looking for people who enjoy variety in their day-to-day work and are keen to build a broad range of technical skills, rather than staying fixed to one process. Full cross-training will be provided, so no prior experience in either area is required – just the right attitude and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply diamond coating to specialist tooling using established electroplating procedures
- Carry out masking of components to protect specified areas during the plating process
- Work flexibly across different machines and processes as production requirements dictate
- Prepare and handle tooling components throughout the production process
- Carry out visual quality inspections before and after plating and masking
- Identify defects, imperfections or damage and report concerns promptly
- Work efficiently to achieve production targets while maintaining quality standards
- Maintain high standards of health, safety and housekeeping
- Participate in daily team briefings and continuous improvement activities
- Support colleagues across the production team when required, including covering different stations as needed
- Follow company procedures and quality requirements at all times
What We're Looking For
We're interested in people who take pride in producing high-quality work, enjoy working as part of a team, and are comfortable adapting to different tasks across the production floor.
Essential Skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Strong communication skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Flexibility to work across different machines, processes and tasks
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable and dependable approach to work

Experience in any of the following would be beneficial, although full training — including cross-training in both electroplating and masking — can be provided:
- Manufacturing

- Engineering workshop environments
- Quality inspection
- Precision manufacturing
