Clark Wood are currently recruiting for an ambitious Personal Tax Semi Senior to join a highly regarded independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in Cheltenham.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Personal Tax Assistant, Tax Semi Senior or ATT studier looking to develop their career within a successful Private Client Tax team. The firm has an excellent reputation in the local market and offers a supportive environment with strong progression opportunities.
Working alongside experienced Tax Managers and Partners, you will gain exposure to a varied portfolio of private clients including high-net-worth individuals, company directors, landlords, sole traders and trusts.
As a Personal Tax Semi Senior, you will assist with the delivery of a high-quality personal tax service to a diverse portfolio of clients.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and submitting Self Assessment tax returns for individuals, directors, landlords and sole traders.
- Assisting with the management of a portfolio of private client tax affairs.
- Preparing Capital Gains Tax calculations and supporting on tax planning assignments.
- Assisting with Inheritance Tax matters and estate administration where required.
- Liaising with HMRC and handling client tax queries.
- Supporting senior members of the tax team with advisory work and ad-hoc tax projects.
- Ensuring all compliance deadlines are met while maintaining excellent client service.
About You
- Previous experience working within a Personal Tax team in a UK accountancy practice.
- Experience preparing Self Assessment tax returns.
- ATT qualified, ATT part-qualified, studying towards ATT/CTA, or qualified by experience.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with clients.
- A genuine interest in developing a long-term career within Private Client Tax.
