We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Janitorial Team Leader to oversee cleaning operations within Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy premises. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid background in commercial cleaning, and previous janitorial experience. This role offers an opportunity to lead a team in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for clients and staff alike.
Main Responsibilities
- Managing the Janitorial Team
- Developing skills and processes to all cleaning operations are carried out in a safe and proper manner and in compliance with all Health and Safety legislation relevant to those activities
- Liasing with external contractors such as pest control, washroom hygiene, window cleaning & waste companies
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, order new stock, and prevent wastage
- Ensure the team complies with health and safety regulations (such as COSHH) and maintains strict hygiene standards
- Prepare rooms for functions, meetings, training, events etc. with layouts as directed by administration staff, which involves moving furniture, hanging wall linings
Skills & Qualifications
Essential
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience within a janitorial or facilities management setting
- Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and uphold high standards of professionalism
- Good IT skills especially with Outlook, Word & Excel
Desirable
- Qualifications in health and safety compliance
- An interest in sailing/water sports
