Responsibilities
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks to support the culinary team, including chopping, peeling, and organizing ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards by washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans efficiently
- Help keep the kitchen area tidy and organized, ensuring all surfaces are sanitized and equipment is properly stored
- Support the kitchen team during service times by restocking supplies and assisting with plating or serving as needed
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to ensure a safe working environment for everyone
- Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are adhered to within the kitchen
- Assist with inventory checks and stock rotation to ensure ingredients are fresh and available for daily use
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key!
- Basic understanding of food preparation, cooking processes, and kitchen hygiene standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting colleagues
- Good physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform manual tasks such as lifting and cleaning
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food handling and hygiene practices
