Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Casual Raceday Cleaner to join our team at Chepstow Racecourse. This role involves maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the venue during match days, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for spectators and staff alike. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to customer service. Previous experience in cleaning or event support is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers flexible hours aligned with raceday schedules, primarily on weekends and during special events.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitise spectator areas, including seating, walkways, and amenities before, during, and after matches
- Maintain cleanliness of changing rooms, toilets, and other facilities throughout the event
- Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed
- Assist with setting up and dismantling temporary facilities or equipment as required
- Respond promptly to any cleaning or maintenance issues raised by staff or spectators
- Ensure all areas meet health and safety standards at all times
- Support team members in delivering excellent customer service by maintaining a tidy environment
Requirements
- Ability to work flexible hours, predominantly on match days which may include weekends and evenings
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Prior experience in cleaning or customer service roles is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for transportation purposes between venues or facilities
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude with a focus on delivering high standards of cleanliness and customer satisfaction
Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract
