Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team in the role of Cook. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop culinary skills within a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with food preparation, cooking, and ensuring food safety standards are maintained. Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen setting is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. This paid role is ideal for someone eager to gain hands-on experience in the culinary industry and contribute to delivering excellent service. Would suit someone retired.
Responsibilities
- Food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Support cooking processes, ensuring dishes are prepared efficiently and to high quality
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations
- Help with inventory management, including stock rotation and storage
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to ensure a safe working environment
- Serve meals to customers in a courteous and professional manner when required
- Assist with general kitchen duties such as washing, peeling, chopping, and plating food items
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant service is advantageous but not mandatory
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Willingness to learn new skills and take direction from senior staff
- Ability to work flexibly within a busy kitchen environment, including during peak hours
