Job Purpose
To oversee and support the management of multiple Early Years settings within the Greater Manchester area, ensuring high standards of care, education, compliance, and operational efficiency. The Area Manager will lead setting managers, drive quality improvement, and ensure adherence to statutory requirements and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- To provide professional leadership and management of managers. Give the necessary support and guidance to enable them to deliver the highest standards of care and education.
- Contribute effectively to the senior management team, positively promoting Tiddlywinks Nursery Group and TOOSC.
- To maintain a high level of communication across all personnel and, where relevant, update other senior leaders and human resources on everyday occurrences within the settings.
- To keep updated on any changes in legislation and/or new incentives and support in implementing them into the settings.
- To deal promptly and professionally with any queries, concerns or complaints from any parents and carers and take appropriate action if necessary.
- To ensure the smooth running of all the settings in the absence of the managers.
- Safeguarding Duties – Support managers and staff with all Safeguarding procedures in line with the Manchester/Bury Safeguarding board.
- Update your Designated Safeguarding training regularly.
- Regularly review the Safeguarding policy in line with legislation.
- Ensure that all staff comply with the safeguarding policy.
- Work with the LADO as required.
- Liaise with external partners in relation to safeguarding concerns/attending case reviews etc.
- Have an overview of the DBS procedure to include checking staff’s on-going suitability.
- To ensure Health and Safety within the settings is monitored, documentation completed, checks completed and legislation is being followed.
- SEND Duties - Oversee support plans and any reports completed by key members of staff to ensure they are of a high quality by providing training as required.
- Ensure that key members of staff attend regular meetings with parents and other professionals involved with the child.
- Ensure the progress of children with identified additional needs on a termly basis is monitored on a termly basis.
- Support staff with the paperwork and process of applying for EHCP and funding from the Local Authority
