We are seeking an experienced and self-sufficient HR professional to take full ownership of the HR function within our growing business (21 employees across production and office teams).
This is a standalone role suited to someone who is confident working independently, enjoys building structure, and is comfortable making recommendations rather than waiting for direction.
The Role
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining effective HR processes that support compliance, performance, and organisational stability.
You will work closely with management, but we are looking for someone who can:
- identify gaps,
- suggest improvements,
- implement solutions,
- and confidently manage employee relations matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing performance and disciplinary processes in line with UK employment law
- Ensuring compliance and maintaining accurate HR documentation
- Reviewing and updating policies and procedures
- Supporting managers in handling workplace issues
- Monitoring training and competence records (including ISO requirements)
- Conducting structured employee check-ins where appropriate
- Advising on risk and best practice before issues escalate
- Strengthening internal HR systems and processes
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Has solid HR Generalist or HR Manager experience
- Has strong working knowledge of UK employment law
- Is confident managing difficult conversations professionally
- Is structured, proactive and solution-focused
- Can operate independently without close supervision
- Understands the dynamics of a small to medium-sized business
