Post Title: Registered Manager
· Hours: 37.5 hours per week or as necessary to fulfil the duties of the role
· Reports to: Managing Director
The Registered Manager manage teams of staff that directly provides support for people with a learning disability. The key part of their role is to support the delivery of exceptional support complying with CQC, Legislative Requirements and company policies and procedures for all the areas of support they manage and the business. The role encompasses ensuring people we support receive the right support and that staff have the right support on an ongoing basis utilising existing and new systems of working.
Principle Responsibilities
To: The role includes:
· Leading and managing the day to day operation of the Support Services which includes direct supervision of Team Leaders, Senior Support Workers, Support Workers and office Administrator
· Leading and being accountable for the quality of support for the people we support through regular audits and compliance checks as part of Quality Assurance processes
· Working collaboratively with colleagues from other agencies within the industry for better outcomes for the people we support
· Ensuring high standards and performance of the services adhering to; and exceeding CQC and local authority requirements
· Delivering efficient systems and working practices to enhance cost effectiveness whilst maintaining high standards of support
· Ensuring compliance with legislation and contractual requirements including working with appropriately trained and competent staff to deliver a high-quality service
· Ensure and support systems of working with people we support, families and professionals to ensure the delivery of person-centred support and best practice throughout all teams
· Manage HR casework; disciplinary, grievance, supervision and appraisals in line with HR policies and procedures
· Ensure effective maintenance of management tools to ensure services are well led, effective and responsive in line with meeting the needs of people supported and staff
· Set team goals and objectives in line with the company’s vision and strategy
· Resource management, planning and accurate data recording on company system
· Facilitate communication and feedback through team meetings and internal communication systems
· Ensure ongoing compliance with the relevant Care Quality Commission Fundamental Standards
· Make decisions based on policies and procedures that comply with requirements of the Care Quality Commission, company and health and safety policies and legislation
· Report on health and safety concerns and carry out any actions as requested liaising with the Registered Manager
· Identify risks and implement appropriate risk assessments to support staff actions and ensure the safety of the people we support
· Effectively manage the recruitment and selection process alongside the people we support
· Provide on call support and assistance when required
· Support people to manage their money better and ensure that they are supported well to keep their money safe
· Perform audit actions to ensure that systems work in the way they are intended to and commit to improve practice through learning
· Effectively support people and staff in the administration and management of medication
· Preform any other duties that fall within the scope the Team Leader role and/or as deemed reasonable by line managers
Potential candidates must have the following:
· NVQ/QCF Level 5 in Social Care/Management or equivalent or willingness to work towards a qualification
· Experience and knowledge in delivering good quality support for people with a broad range of learning disabilities
· Experience of strategic planning and resource allocation
· Ability to provide strong, clear and dynamic leadership
· Skills in strong effective and decisive staff management
· Be clear and decisive in decision making
· Sound Business Acumen and experience of working with business support systems
· Ability to balance the company’s commercial demands and the company’s person-centred philosophy
· Ability to develop teams and team working so that there is consistency across the service.
· Ability to work as part of a team
· Ability to work independently when necessary
· Be able to ensure that high level of support is provided to people with learning disabilities
· Develop new services with support from senior management and maintain existing services to run effectively
· Possess a kind, caring and ethical outlook
· Ability to report on Key Performance Indicators as specified by senior managers
· A flexible approach to working with diversity
· Experience of working with families and Multi-disciplinary professionals
· Hold a current UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle
