Role: Children’s Residential Support Worker Bank
Location: Rotherham (S60)
Salary details: £13.50 per hour
Plus: £65.00 per sleep-in
*Please Note - A valid drivers licence is required for this role.
Hours: The post provides the opportunity to work on a casual basis picking up shifts including those with sleep ins as and when they become available.
The post holder will provide high quality care and interventions to children and young people in a residential children’s homes, which will contribute to the protection, safeguarding and promotion of the education, health and well-being of children and young people.

- Have a full UK driving Licence
- Be able to work on a Rota.

Person Specification:
- Excellent verbal, written and communication skills. IT skills necessary to undertake all administrative and reporting requirements. Including using a range of computer applications and ICT including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation software, internet and e-mail. - Essential
- Have a good understanding of child protection, safeguarding and vulnerable adults issues- Essential
- Practical knowledge of health and safety issues- Essential
- Able to positively engage with children and young people-Essential
- Understand and be able to apply a trauma informed approach to all your work with the children and young people. -Essential
- Knowledge of law and practice relating to looked after children and legal status applied to children with the Children’s Act- Essential
- Experience in maintaining and creating good written electronic records of work. Demonstrate evidencing outcomes achieved with children and young people- Essential
- Experience of understanding the needs of children with a range of sensitive and personal care issues i.e. mental health problems, dementia, depression, challenging behaviours etc.- Essential
- Experience in managing difficult and challenging behaviours- Essential
- Experience of working and engaging as part of a team.- Essential
- Experience of working in partnership with other agencies, children and young people and parents/ carers.- Essential
- A strong and demonstrable commitment to promoting equality and diversity in all work undertaken.- Essential

- Level 3 Diploma for the Children’s and Young People’s Workforce or similar Level 3 qualification e.g. AS and A levels, NVQs Level 3, Applied A Levels, BTEC First Certificates and Diplomas, City and Guilds Advanced, or NQF Level 4 Certificates of Higher Education Or Evidence of the equivalent level of knowledge gained through work experience.-Desirable
- Has a valid full UK manual driving license.- Essential
