We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic candidate to the role of Specialist School Practice Development Nurse within a term-time only role, located at Cedar House, within our St. Michael's Community Hospital site within the Specialist School Nursing team. The weekly hours for this role will be agreed at interview, and a term-time only agreement will be drafted for approval by the appointed candidate.
The post holder will develop robust induction packs for pre-registration nursing students and new starters with a clear plan for meeting set objectives and ensure this is delivered by each team locally. They will ensure that placements and support are for nursing learners are of a high standard in line with the NMC requirements.

The successful candidates will work 37.50 per week for 39x weeks. For payment, 32.40 hours will be paid per week for 52x weeks as per Trust Term-Time only calculations.

With the expansion of the Specialist School Nursing Team, there is a rare opportunity for an experienced children’s community nurse with an interest in the training and development of specialist community nursing teams to join our Babies, Children and Young People Division. This role will promote professional development and provide training opportunities to meet mandatory and additional competencies for nurses, nursing associates, health care assistants and nursing students across the specialist school team, continuing care team and community children’s team. Our children’s community services are based in North London.
The role is ideal for an experienced children’s nurse, with robust clinical skills in complex care delivery and competent in the role of practice supervisor and assessor. The post holder will be able to lead on professional development for staff, working autonomously and as part of a team. Significant clinical experience of a minimum of 5 years working in acute and community children’s services is essential.

North Mid is part of North Central London integrated care system – consisting of the NHS and Local authority organisations in Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield and Haringey.
