Sanctuary Personnel are currently recruiting for an experienced Substance Misuse Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) to join a specialist drug and alcohol recovery service in Gillingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Independent Prescriber, Nurse Prescriber, or Pharmacist Prescriber with strong community substance misuse experience.
This Substance Misuse Prescriber role in Gillingham offers a competitive £52 per hour pay rate and the opportunity to support individuals affected by drug and alcohol dependency, delivering high-quality, recovery-focused treatment within a community setting.
Working Pattern:
- April: 2 days per week (Tuesday & Thursday)
- May: 3 days per week (Tuesday, Thursday & Friday)
- Hours: 09:00 – 17:00
- Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide safe and effective prescribing within a substance misuse treatment service, including opioid substitution therapy (OST).
- Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments for individuals with drug and alcohol dependency.
- Develop and review personalised treatment and recovery plans.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including recovery workers, nurses, and GPs.
- Monitor prescribing practices to ensure safe, compliant, and effective care.
- Support detoxification, relapse prevention, and long-term recovery pathways.
- Maintain accurate clinical records in line with regulatory standards.
Requirements:
- Qualified Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) with Independent Prescribing qualification.
- Registered with NMC or GPhC (depending on professional background).
- Previous experience within substance misuse/community drug and alcohol services is essential.
- Strong knowledge of OST, detoxification protocols, and harm reduction strategies.
- Excellent clinical assessment and prescribing skills.
