Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Skip Driver to cover holiday periods on an as-needed basis. We require a driver to start immediately. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating chain skip vehicles and ensuring the safe and efficient collection and delivery of skips. The position requires a professional attitude, excellent driving skills, and adherence to safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate chain skip lorries safely and efficiently, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies
- Conduct pre-journey inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working order
- Collect skips from designated locations, ensuring correct handling and secure loading
- Deliver skips to specified sites, managing timing and customer requirements effectively
- Assist with the loading and unloading of skips when necessary
- Maintain accurate records of journeys, deliveries, and collections
- Follow all health and safety procedures during operations to ensure personal and team safety
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding schedules, delays, or issues during routes
Qualifications
- Valid Category C (Class 2) or above driving licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience driving skip lorries
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and vehicle maintenance procedures
- Ability to operate chain skip vehicles confidently and safely in various conditions
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently during routes
- Strong communication skills and a professional attitude towards customers and colleagues

Pay: £15.00-£22.00 per hour
