Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled HGV Fitter/ mechanic to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating and assembling components using various tools and techniques. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to work with precision in a fast-paced environment. The Fitter will play a crucial role in ensuring that all products meet quality standards and specifications, working in our brand new work shop as part of an established team.
Responsibilities
- Carry out all mechanical work to HGV‘s ensuring they are road worthy and fit for purpose
- Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to complete tasks efficiently.
- Conduct inspections of finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and resolve any issues that arise during production.
Skills
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools for fabrication and assembly tasks.
- Basic maths skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
- Solid mechanical knowledge, enabling effective troubleshooting of equipment issues.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
- Must have minimum 5 years experience.
- Class 1 licence not essential but would be an advantage

Role is Self employed, Monday - Friday 6am-6pm (Can be flexible if needed and previously discussed/ agreed) with weekend work & overtime at enhanced rate always available if interested
Full use of company vehicle during working hours plus personal use once probation period is successfully completed
