About the Role
1st Choice Removals is looking for reliable, hardworking, and customer-focused HGV Drivers to join our growing team based in Bournemouth.
We are currently recruiting for:
- 2 x HGV Driver – UK Removals
- 2x HGV Driver – European Removals
Whether you prefer working within the UK or travelling across mainland Europe, we have an exciting opportunity for you. Both roles involve residential and commercial removals, working alongside an experienced removals crew to deliver exceptional customer service while ensuring customers' belongings are transported safely, securely, and professionally.
The European role requires regular international travel, overnight stays, and periods away from home, depending on customer schedules and destinations. The UK role involves travel throughout the UK, with occasional overnight stays where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely drive and operate HGV removal vehicles in accordance with all relevant driving regulations.
- Carry out residential and commercial removals throughout the UK or across the UK and mainland Europe, depending on your role.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload furniture and customers' belongings with the utmost care.
- Complete daily vehicle safety inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness and roadworthiness.
- Assist with transport and customs documentation where required (European role).
- Comply with drivers' hours regulations, tachograph legislation, and company policies.
- Work closely with the removals team to complete jobs efficiently and professionally.
- Deliver outstanding customer service throughout every stage of the move.
- Represent 1st Choice Removals professionally at all times.
Requirements
- Valid UK HGV driving licence (Category C or C+E).
- Valid Driver CPC qualification.
- Digital tachograph card.
- Valid passport and ability to travel throughout Europe (European role only).
- Previous removals, transport, or multi-drop experience is desirable.
- Good understanding of drivers' hours and tachograph regulations.
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling.
- Flexible and reliable with a professional attitude.
- Excellent teamwork and customer service skills.
