Schools Mutual Services is working in partnership with primary schools, secondary schools and academy trusts across the Black Country, including Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton, to recruit caring and committed Inclusion Support Assistants for long-term and permanent roles starting in September 2026.
We have a range of full-time and part-time opportunities supporting pupils across both primary and secondary schools, helping children and young people overcome barriers to learning and fully engage in school life.

The Role
As an Inclusion Support Assistant, you'll play an essential role in helping pupils access education by providing tailored academic, social and emotional support.
Working alongside teachers, SENCOs, pastoral teams and external professionals, you'll help create an inclusive learning environment where every pupil feels valued, supported and able to achieve their full potential.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils to access learning both in and outside the classroom
- Providing one-to-one and small group support
- Assisting pupils with SEND, EHCPs and additional learning needs
- Supporting pupils with SEMH needs and emotional wellbeing
- Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging engagement with learning
- Delivering targeted intervention programmes where appropriate
- Helping implement individual support plans and EHCP targets
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral teams and external agencies
- Monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to school staff
- Encouraging independence, confidence and resilience
- Promoting an inclusive, safe and supportive school environment
- Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and professionalism
What we're looking for
We're looking for caring, patient and adaptable individuals who are committed to supporting children and young people to overcome barriers to learning.
You should have:
- Experience working with children or young people in a school, childcare or similar setting
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH or additional learning needs is desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A calm, empathetic and proactive approach
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
- Good organisational and teamwork skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential. We also welcome applications from candidates with transferable experience and a genuine passion for inclusive education.
