Burmatex® is one of the UK’s leading designers and manufacturers of contract carpet tiles and planks.
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Purchasing Coordinator to join our Supply Chain Team within the Commercial Department.
Job Purpose
The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the efficient procurement of materials and services to support business operations. This role focuses on managing the purchasing process from order placement through to delivery, maintaining strong supplier relationships, and ensuring inventory levels meet operational requirements. Working closely with internal teams, the Purchasing Coordinator helps drive cost-effective purchasing, accurate reporting, and continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Principal Responsibilities
- Raise and process purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations and delivery schedules.
- Monitor order progress and expedite deliveries where necessary.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records & supplier information.
- Resolve supplier queries, invoice discrepancies, and delivery issues.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers.
- Support supplier performance reviews, end of month reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with production, warehouse, finance, and other departments to ensure purchasing requirements are met.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and relevant regulations
- Managing and providing a forecast for Inventory levels
- Providing cover for the Planning Coordinator as/when needed.

- Must be able to work as part of a team whilst also using their own initiative
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Needs to be at intermediate level of Excel
- Experience with NetSuite/Oracle is ideal
- Ideally comes from a Purchasing/Supply Chain background
Working Hours and Location
This role is an onsite role 5 days a week. The working hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm with 1hr lunch.

Pay: From £26,500.00 per year
