We are seeking a reliable, hardworking and friendly individual with a genuine love for horses to join our small, professional team at a leading dressage training and breeding yard. To oversee the care and wellbeing for 150 horses including foals, youngsters and broodmares mainly living in small groups but also getting a high level of care and individual attention required. We are currently foaling around 25 dressage mares per year during the main season March-June.
The successful candidate will take great pride in their work and maintain exceptionally high standards of animal care. This is ideally a live-in role to assist with foaling, including night checks on a rota basis during the season, alongside the daily care of foalls upto GP mares and retired broodmares. You will be working within a close-knit, experienced in-house team alongside industry-leading farriers, vets, physios and other specialists.
Previous experience within a commercial equine stud or equine nursing environment is essential, along with strong equine first aid experience and confidence handling Warmblood youngsters as well as group/herd management. Strong leadership skills to manage a small team and the daily organisation are desired. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a busy, fast-paced setting, has a positive team-player attitude and is motivated by continual learning and personal development. Experience as a qualified AI technician would be advantageous but is not essential. Candidates must have a valid UK driving license.
