Looking for a flexible job that fits around your life and makes a difference? We're looking for a friendly, dependable person to join our team at Jane’s Charity Shop as a Temporary Holiday & Sickness Cover Shop Assistant.
This is a paid, casual position ideal for someone who’s happy to work varied hours —planned well in advance, and occasionally at short notice when we need extra help is a bonus.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Serving customers and providing great customer service
- Lifting heavy boxes and bags up and down stairs
- Handling cash and card payments using the till, and a key holder.
- Sorting, pricing, and displaying donated items
- Restocking shelves and keeping the shop tidy and welcoming
- Supporting the team with general day-to-day shop duties
What We’re Looking For
- A flexible, positive attitude
- Reliability and a willingness to help when needed
- Ability to be lifting heavy boxes and bags up and down stairs
- Availability for pre-planned holiday cover (this will be 4-6 week rota)
- Ideally, the ability to cover shifts at short notice for sickness or emergencies
- Retail experience is helpful but not essential – full training will be provided
- A friendly and approachable manner
- You must be at least 18 years old.
