We are looking for a kind, compassionate and confident Senior Care Assistant to join our team and play an important role in supporting our residents and leading our care team
What You'll Be Doing
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care while also taking responsibility for supporting and guiding Care Assistants throughout the shift.
Your role will include:
- Providing outstanding, person-centred care while promoting residents’ dignity, independence and choice
- Supporting residents with personal care, mobility, nutrition, hydration and daily living
- Administering and recording medication safely and accurately in line with residents’ medication plans and Woodside Lodge procedures
- Delegating appropriate tasks to Care Assistants and ensuring duties are completed safely and effectively
- Supporting and supervising Care Assistants throughout the shift
- Leading by example and promoting Woodside Lodge’s high standards of care
- Monitoring residents’ wellbeing and reporting any changes or concerns appropriately
- Completing care records, daily notes and other relevant documentation accurately
- Supporting meaningful activities and encouraging residents to remain socially engaged
- Building positive relationships with residents, relatives and colleagues
- Helping to maintain a safe, clean, comfortable and welcoming environment
- Working alongside the management team to ensure residents receive consistent, high-quality care
- Taking responsibility for the smooth running of the care floor when required
We’re Looking for Someone Who:
- Has a genuine passion for caring for others
- Is kind, compassionate, patient and approachable
- Has experience working in a health or social care setting with a Health & Social Care Level 3 qualification
- Is confident supporting and delegating tasks to other care staff
- Has experience administering medication, or is willing to complete the required training
- Has good knowledge of person-centred care and safeguarding
- Has excellent communication and organisational skills
- Can remain calm and confident when dealing with challenging situations
- Is able to work independently while also being a strong team player
- Is reliable, proactive and willing to take responsibility
- Is committed to maintaining residents’ dignity, privacy and independence
- Is flexible and available to work weekends as part of a rota
- Has full right to work in the UK
Qualifications & Development
