Tyre Fitter – Full-Time
Gorbals Tyre Centre is one of Glasgow’s fastest-growing independent tyre businesses. With a busy workshop and expanding mobile tyre-fitting service, we’re looking for the right person to join and grow with our team.
Previous tyre-fitting experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. Applicants should have some basic mechanical or hands-on vehicle experience and must be confident safely jacking up vehicles and removing and refitting wheels correctly.
You do not need to be a qualified mechanic—we’re looking for someone practical, willing to learn and able to work as part of a team.
This is a busy, fast-paced garage, so you must be able to work efficiently, stay productive and use your initiative while maintaining safe working standards.
Main duties:
- Fitting, repairing and replacing tyres
- Wheel balancing and tyre inspections
- Attending mobile and roadside tyre-fitting jobs
- Keeping the workshop clean and safe
- Providing a professional service to customers
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence – essential
- Basic mechanical or hands-on vehicle experience
- Able to jack up vehicles and remove/refit wheels safely
- Reliable, punctual and willing to learn
- Able to work efficiently and use your own initiative
- Tyre-fitting experience preferred but not essential
Hours and salary:
- Monday–Friday: 9am–5pm
- Saturday: 9am–2pm
- One-hour unpaid lunch Monday–Friday
- 40 paid hours per week
- Salary: £26,500–£29,000 per year
- Final salary will reflect the applicant’s experience and practical ability
