Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Baby Room Leader to oversee and nurture infants within our childcare setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for early childhood development. This role involves managing daily activities, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment, and guiding a team of childcare professionals to deliver high-quality care. Duties
- Lead and supervise the baby room team, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth daily operations
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive development
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all infants in your care at all times
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and health information
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's development, needs, and daily routines
- Organise the daily schedule to balance play, rest, and nourishment for infants
- Uphold compliance with childcare regulations and organisational policies
- Assist with onboarding new staff members and organise ongoing training sessions
- Foster a positive environment that encourages learning through play and exploration
- Manage administrative tasks related to the baby room operations
Experience
- Proven management or leadership experience within early childhood education or childcare settings
- Extensive experience working with children, particularly infants or in nursery environments
- Strong understanding of child development principles and age-specific care requirements
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childhood Practice or equivalent are preferred
- Experience in organising activities that support early learning milestones
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for organisational flexibility
