We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Nursery Deputy Manager to join our vibrant early childhood education team. Responsibilities
- Assist the Nursery Manager in supervising daily nursery activities and staff to ensure smooth operations
- Support the implementation of engaging, age-appropriate educational programs that promote early childhood development
- Lead by example in maintaining high standards of health, safety, and hygiene throughout the nursery environment
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to provide updates on children’s progress and address concerns promptly
- Help coordinate staff schedules, training sessions, and performance evaluations to foster a motivated team
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and nursery policies at all times
- Step into the Nursery Manager’s role when necessary, demonstrating strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of SEND is advantageous As well as working with documentation such as EHCP’s and referrals.
Requirements
- Proven management and leadership experience within early childhood education or childcare settings
- Proven track record of achieving Goods in Ofsted in previous settings.
- Extensive experience working with children, with a solid understanding of child development principles
- Knowledge of nursery regulations, health & safety standards, and best practices in childcare
- Excellent communication skills in English, capable of engaging effectively with children, parents, and team members
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Passionate about nurturing young children’s growth and fostering a positive learning atmosphere
What we expect from our Nursery Deputy Manager:
- Early Years Childcare qualification to at least a Level 3 or 4 in childcare is a must
- A robust understanding of the latest EYFS framework
- Good awareness of planning, observing and record keeping procedures
- Experience with “in the moment planning” desirable but not essential
- Experience of implementing nursery safeguarding policies and procedures
- Excellent interpersonal skills to lead, manage and inspire a team successfully
- Proven record of staff motivation, wellbeing and retention
- Excellent written communication skills to draft short reports, newsletters and emails
- Excellent time management and organisation skills to manage own workload
- A minimum of two years experience in a nursery management/senior position

Pay: £27,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
