Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic 11+ Tutor specialising in NVR (Non-Verbal Reasoning) and VR (Verbal Reasoning) to support students preparing for competitive examinations. This role involves delivering engaging tutoring sessions tailored to individual learning needs, fostering confidence, and helping students achieve their academic goals. The successful candidate will have a passion for education, excellent communication skills, and experience working with children. Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised tutoring sessions focused on NVR and VR topics, adapting teaching methods to suit each student’s learning style
- Develop customised lesson plans and practice materials to enhance understanding and exam performance
- Assess students’ progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their development
- Create a positive and motivating learning environment that encourages student engagement and confidence
- Maintain organised records of student attendance, progress, and areas for improvement
- Collaborate with parents or guardians to discuss student progress and address any concerns or additional support needs
- Stay informed about current exam formats and requirements to ensure tutoring remains relevant and effective
Experience
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, particularly in preparing students for 11+ examinations
- Experience working with children or young learners, ideally within a special education context or with diverse learning needs
- Strong understanding of non-verbal reasoning (NVR) and verbal reasoning (VR) techniques and strategies
- Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex concepts clearly and patiently
- Ability to motivate students and foster a supportive learning environment
- Prior experience in educational settings or with exam preparation is highly desirable
