Front of House Manager - Outbuildings Dorset
Location: Bridport, Dorset
Role type: Full-time, senior management
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Outbuildings Dorset is looking for a warm, confident and experienced Front of House Manager to lead the guest experience across our rooms, restaurant, drinks, events and future wellness offering.
This is not a traditional, stiff hotel role. We are looking for someone who understands that great hospitality is not about performance, it is about presence.
Our style is personal, thoughtful and quietly high-standard. Guests should feel genuinely welcomed, comfortable and cared for, whether they are staying overnight, joining us for dinner, attending an event or visiting for the first time.
You will be one of the faces of the business: a natural host, a strong team leader and an operationally capable manager who can help Outbuildings grow without losing the feeling that makes it special.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the front of house experience across rooms, dining, drinks, events and day-to-day hosting
Create a warm, personal and confident welcome for every guest
Read guests well and adapt the experience to suit different needs and expectations
Train, support and develop the front of house team
Maintain high service standards without making hospitality feel formal or scripted
Oversee food and beverage service, guest flow and daily operations
Work closely with the kitchen, owners and wider team
Support commercial performance, including GP, revenue growth and events
Help develop systems, SOPs and standards that reflect the Outbuildings way
Protect the tone, warmth and personality of the business as it grows
About you
You will likely have experience in boutique hotels, restaurants, private hospitality, members’ clubs, events or lifestyle-led hospitality.
You will be:
A natural host
- Warm, open and emotionally intelligent
- Confident leading and developing a team
- Experienced in food and beverage operations
- Commercially aware
- Calm under pressure
- Detail-focused without being rigid
- Comfortable in a senior management role
- Skilled at balancing high standards with personality
- Excited by building something, not just maintaining it
Most importantly, you will care deeply about how people feel. This is a role for someone who wants to be present, visible, involved and genuinely invested in the guest experience.
What success looks like
Success means guests feel the magic of Outbuildings even when the owners are not personally hosting them.
It means the team feels confident and supported, standards are high, service feels natural, and the business can grow while protecting the warmth, care and personality at its heart.
How to apply
Please send your CV and a short note telling us why this role feels like the right fit for you.
